Microsoft Edge is a “trusted” UI App and a core part of the Windows 10 Operating System it sets itself to not only be the default browser, but the default PDF reader too it is deeply integrated in Windows 10 , Edge is clearly the application that Microsoft wants you to use by any means. And yet, there are many reasons to stay away from Edge and continue using Internet Explorer or other Browsers . There is no option to block it but sometimes it can be necessary for example:
One of our followers has emailed us and asked a way to block Edge because his child use it in restricted Account , his Windows version was Windows 10 Home and he said that he tried all possibilities to block the EDGE but no luck , we coded this App for him and realized many people need it.

[Fixed] – EDGE Blocker Corrupt Microsoft EDGE in “Windows 10 version 1703” Most probably it is a Microsoft BUG – Critical
Edge Blocker is a Portable Freeware , the app starts up right away after you download and unpack it , (it works only on windows 10)
The interface is pretty basic, and you can only block or unblock the Edge browser, so no super skills are required to work with it , once you’ve blocked the browser, it won’t load even if you — or an app — tries to launch , we recommend to change the default browser firs if you have no other browser installed just tick the I.E Shortcut box , Edge blocker will create a internet explorer shortcut on desktop.
if your Windows user account has administrator privileges, the restriction takes place at the system level, so all users are impacted. On the other hand, standard user accounts can only block Edge on their own account.
NOTE: Before you Block Microsoft EDGE , please not forget to change your default browser – Here

try to open EDGE after blocking ?
EdgeBlock is not working for me; Win 10 Version 1803, Build 17134.471, 64 bit.
I have the icon in my Toolbar, it pops up and responds when I click “Block”, but when I shut down and reboot, the default I set for Chrome is once more changed to Edge.
All I’m supposed to do is download and unzip the .zip file, right?
EdgeBlock excellent.
Need an Internet Explorer Block, also please.
Switched default to either MF or GC.
Control Panel, Turn Windows features on or off, uncheck IE.
Looked at GPEdit, could not determine the adjustments needed.
Clean with MajorGeeks approved, CCleaner & Free Windows Cleanup Tool. Restart.
Every time, I find traces of, IE Temporary Internet Files & IE Visited URL History.
Edge Blocker, eh? Well, I already use another web browser as default. The problem is that various Microsoft apps insist on launching Edge instead of my default browser.
Is there a way to password protect the block/unlock button?
please help me step by step to canseled Microsoft edge
Hi! how to block the entire domain?
Thanks for your Nice Comment Ann
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I really can’t say that enough and it definitely deserves to be shouted! If Windows wants users to stick with Microsoft Edge, then they should improve users’ ability to limit and control it!!! Lack of ability to block sites is the reason I had to block the whole browser instead!!!
Thanks Francois B
Very useful Tool. Works great under Windows 10 Build 1511, 1607, 1703 and now 1709.
Thanks for creating this Free program! It amazes me Microsoft is still allowed to embed a program like this into the whole OS. I thought Microsoft lost a lawsuit in Europe in regards to IE and Windows 98se.
Great tool to take back control!
Grand merci pour ce logiciel tant attendu !
