PowerRun is a portable freeware to launch regedit.exe , Cmd.exe or other software with the same privileges as the TrustedInstaller / Nt Authority/system Why would you need it? Sometimes it is not enough to just be running as Administrator, Maybe it’s a file or a registry key that is locked or not editable, PowerRun a tool with this powerful privilege most likely solve that , PowerRun doesn’t require any installation process or additional dll files.
What is New (Tuesday, August 5, 2025)
1. [Fixed] – PowerRun cannot run programs with the “Unblock” checkbox enabled.
2. [Added] – Code Improvements.
How to use : After downloading, extract PowerRun to your desired location, then run it. You can drag and drop any files on it for example ; program files , Program files shortcuts , script files , text files usw. to run a listed file in TrustedInstaller/SYSTEM privileges you can select it and use run button or right click on it and choose “Run File” feature , the file will run with Highest privileges , you can check the Task manager’s details tab to verify that the selected file running under SYSTEM Privileges.
If you’re trying to edit or delete keys from the registry , you might find that some keys won’t let you do anything with them and you’ll get an error such as “Cannot delete xxxxx: Error while deleting key“. These keys are usually protected to stop accidental deletion , You could also be the administrator on the computer, but still can’t manipulate the required key.
Even though the administrator account has a great deal of control, there are other hidden accounts and levels on the system which have even greater access and therefore standard administrator privileges are not enough. To solve this problem, you have to force the registry to allow the logged on user full control of the subkeys in such cases PoweRun can help you : use the “Launch Registry Editor” button.
Copy desired registry key and click “Open” button , PowerRun will open regedit (with Highest Privileges) and jump to the key Automatically. If you want to add any parameter to listed script or program rigt click on it and use “Edit Item” or just use wrench Button.
For automation purpose PowerRun allows you to create a vbs or bat file with necessary parameters in it , to use this feature :
1. Select the Program.
2. And use Edit – Create bat/Vbs File feature.
Don’t forget to run the script in the same folder with PowerRun.exe or PowerRun_x64.exe.

How to run power run without admin privilegies?
可以支持中文吗?
Can you please consider adding dark theme, there are already darkmodelib on github
The related feature has been removed because it is now possible to sort the list by clicking on the column headings. Rename the rows that you want to move up and add a number at the beginning of each one.
In previous versions, we could rearrange the order of added files by dragging and dropping them with the mouse. With version 1.7, however, this is no longer possible.
(Eklenilen dosyalarin siralamasini (kimini asagiya kimini yukariya alarak) fareyle surukle birak seklinde daha onceki surumlerde istedigimiz gibi ayarlayabiliyorduk. 1.7 ile beraber bu siralamayi hicbir sekilde yapamiyoruz…)
1. Open the PowerRun program and drag the file you want to run to the PowerRun interface and add it to the list.
2. You can create a bat file by right-clicking newly added program and selecting "Create Bat File".
3. You can use the bat file you create to quickly run the appropriate file with elevated privileges.
can i use this (if so how) to execute a file from the command prompt that normally won’t execute by doubling clicking it? If not, do you have any utilities that do this? I dont want the desired command line exe file installed in my C directory (if that helps)
Just to say that remplacing only the exe file version 1.6 with the last version 1.7 doesn’t keep our configuration? Our links to our programs are lost !
What a pity.
We had to add this restriction because earlier versions of PowerRun had too many false positives. You can use a previous version of PowerRun.
How to automate in scripts.
I have a script which I use to tweak systems, install applications and restore configurations. Powerrun_x64 is used to solve the problem of things that need elevated rights. But every time I use it, it crashes saying I have to allow command line. I then have to restore system from image, allow command line via gui then run my script again. I get the restrctions against false positives, but it makes powerrun almost unusable.
Also, it returns no output. It doesn’t say whether the command failed or succeeded. Have to manually go and check every command I’ve used power run on to see it it worked. Is there a better way?
Hi, Some malware was run with high privileges from the PowerRun command line. Because of this, previous versions of PowerRun had a lot of false positive alerts. So we had to add restrictions.
To allow the command line, you need to click File > Allow Command Line once on the computers you use.
Hi! Thank you for the updated version and Your work :). I need so often run powerrun from read-only flash drive on different computers (drag .bat to executable powerrun.exe). How can i avoid meesage "Allow Command Line"? (As far i see, powerrun.ini parameter "Security Code" is written and is different for every PC).
Thanks fpr your feedback.
thanks for releasing a newer version of PowerRun. only old versions of the PowerRun app seem to get automatically removed or deleted by the windows defender antivirus program with updated definition database updates.
Hi, When I changed a registry Key, is it possible to restore the previous rights to the key?
